Using AI is a no brainer today. Everyone is using it for everything. Especially for coding. AI tools can generate code with just a prompt. They can review your code and suggest improvements. They can create the database and build both the front-end and the back-end.
So why not use it everywhere?
Well, there is a catch. Using AI everywhere and always, takes away some basic skills that you need. First and foremost, it takes away what makes you special in the new AI SDLC process: the human developer as a leader of the whole process.
The programmer needs to set the goals. The human is the compass that will guide
the AI tools to where the applications (e.g. chess program) needs to go to. Of course AI tools can also offer guidance on how some things can be done, or they may also offer ideas. But it is the human who will need to review and distill them towards a solid set of ideas that will make the specific chess application unique.
That is why Huo Chess will continue being developed manually without the use of AI tools, but at the same time a series of articles is prepared on how AI can be used as well.
We need the best of AI to make our applications better, but we should also not forget the reason behind the existence of Huo Chess: to keep our edge in programming and thinking. Ourselves.
